Stock Market Today: Sensex falls over 250 points, Nifty slips below 24,150; IndiGo top loser:

Indian stock market opened lower on Monday, August 31, tracking weakness across Asian markets after US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s hawkish comments at the Jackson Hole Symposium raised concerns over a possible interest rate hike as early as next month.
The BSE Sensex opened at 77,130.73, compared with its previous close of 77,264.51. At 9:15 am, the 30-share index was down 269.22 points, or 0.35 per cent, at 76,995.29.
The NSE Nifty 50 opened at 24,117.55 against its previous close of 24,175.65. The benchmark index was down 74.25 points, or 0.31 per cent, to 24,101.40 in early trade.
