The application window for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET September 2026) was reopened by the CBSE. Candidates who were previously unable to fill out the form for any reason and wish to appear for this exam should complete the application process without delay. The application window will close tomorrow, i.e., September 1, 2026. Please note that candidates who have already applied for the exam do not need to fill out the form again.

**Eligibility for Paper 1 and Paper 2**
Separate eligibility criteria have been established for Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the CTET exam. For CTET Paper 1, candidates must have passed Class 12 with 50% marks and completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or an equivalent qualification. In some instances, a Bachelor's degree combined with a B.Ed. is required. For CTET Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8), candidates must possess a graduation degree along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or an equivalent qualification. **Application Fees Based on Paper and Category**
Candidates belonging to other categories applying for a single paper must pay ₹1,000, while those applying for both papers must pay ₹1,200. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and differently-abled categories are required to pay ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both papers. The fee can be paid online.

To complete the CTET 2026 application form, visit the official website at ctet.nic.in.
On the home page, under the 'LATEST NEWS' section, click on the link: "Apply : CTET SEP 2026 (Date Extended till 01.09.2026)."

When will the exam date be announced?
According to the notification issued by CTET, the new exam date will be announced after the portal closes. Consequently, the exam date could be announced anytime after September 1st. The exam city slip will be made available for download 10 to 15 days prior to the exam date, and the admit card will be released 4 days before the exam date.
