New Delhi: In the first semi-final of Duleep Trophy 2026, the match is being played between East Zone and Central Zone. In this match being held at BCCI Center of Excellence Ground-1, Bengaluru, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi caught everyone's attention with his stormy batting. However, he was just 8 runs away from completing his century and was out after scoring 92 runs.

Vaibhav hit 7 sixes and 7 fours in his innings. He batted cautiously in the beginning, but soon started appearing aggressive. In the second over, he gave momentum to his innings by hitting two consecutive fours off Yash Thakur's balls.
After this, Vaibhav took full advantage of the bad balls and hit shots all around the field. At one point during his batting, he even got a lease of life. Yash Rathore dropped his catch on the personal score of 40 runs. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Vaibhav made his innings even bigger.
Scored the first half century in Duleep Trophy
Vaibhav completed his half-century by hitting a six off spinner Saransh Jain in the 15th over of the innings. This was his first half-century in Duleep Trophy. Earlier, he had scored only 8 runs in his debut match against North East Zone.
However, after reaching 92 runs, Vaibhav could not convert his innings into a century. Despite this, his brilliant batting played an important role in putting East Zone in a strong position.
Central Zone scored 266 runs
In this match, East Zone captain Ishan Kishan won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Central Zone team was reduced to 266 runs in its first innings. Rinku Singh scored 60 runs, while Aryan Juyal played an inning of 46 runs. Yash Thakur scored 30 not out.
For East Zone, Mukesh Kumar and Abhijeet Sarkar took three wickets each. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Kounain Qureshi got two successes each. Vaibhav's brilliant innings of 92 runs has made the match more exciting.
