Automobile Desk: The dominance of the SUV segment is continuously increasing in the Indian automobile market, and to capitalize on this popularity, Hyundai India is working on a big masterplan. The company is preparing to introduce three new vehicles in India by March 2027. The key part of this strategy is a new mid-size SUV, currently internally codenamed 'BC4i'. Auto experts believe that this vehicle can be officially launched in the country around Diwali 2026.
It has been spotted several times during testing on Indian roads. The company is bringing this SUV to fill the gap between Venue and Creta. This SUV, approximately 4.18 meters long, will be a great option for those customers who do not want to buy a car slightly larger than the Venue, but as expensive as the Creta. Due to compact dimensions and bold SUV stance, it will not only be easy to drive in city traffic but will also give a strong and premium look on the highway. After entering the Indian market, it will compete directly with upcoming vehicles like Maruti Suzuki Victoris.

Let us tell you, the biggest feature of this new SUV may be its powertrain option. According to media reports, Hyundai can give it a 1.5-litre capacity petrol engine, with which the option of company-fitted CNG will also be available. If this happens, it will become the first Hyundai SUV of more than 4 meters in length to be offered a factory-fitted CNG kit. To deal with the problem of boot space (instead of trunk), the company can use modern technology like under-body or twin-cylinder in it, so that customers get full space to keep the luggage along with mileage.
This SUV is going to be very modern in terms of safety also. The company is going to provide Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) in it. Under this safety suite, advanced features like forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, high-beam assist and safe exit warning will be available. These features will warn the driver of potential dangers and reduce the chances of an accident to a great extent.

In terms of design, BC4i will be completely based on Hyundai's new global design language. It is clear from the spy pictures that it will have a split-headlight setup, connected LED light bar, newly cut alloy wheels and sporty front and rear bumpers. Let us tell you that the slim taillights given at the rear are making this vehicle even more sporty and premium.
