UP Weather Update 31 August 2026: At present, Southwest Monsoon 2026 is active in entire North India. Due to this, there is a rain alert at many places. Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Apart from rain, an alert has also been issued for thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in many areas of UP on Monday (August 31, 2026). This trend of rain will continue throughout the week. According to IMD, there is a possibility of rain in most of the districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh between September 1 and 5. Whereas, if we talk about western Uttar Pradesh, heavy rains may continue at isolated places from August 31 to September 5.

According to IMD, orange alert is issued in view of heavy rain on Monday in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including Mirzapur, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra and Chandauli. Apart from this, there is yellow alert of heavy rain in 13 other districts like Varanasi, Rampur, Banda, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Bareilly and Pilibhit. According to meteorologists, a warning of thunderstorm and lightning has been issued in a total of 58 districts of UP on Monday. According to the meteorological department’s estimate, cloud activity may persist on Monday. There is a possibility of sporadic rain between sunshine and shade. Where will it rain?
