AC Milan have a clear roadmap for the future and want Adrien Rabiot to remain at the club, with work already under way on a new contract.

There are no official meetings scheduled at the moment, but the club’s intentions are unmistakable: the French midfielder is seen as a central figure in Ruben Amorim’s project, both for the present and for the coming years. According to Milannews, initial contacts have already taken place with his mother, Veronique, to begin discussing the framework of a possible agreement. Once the transfer window closes, Gerry Cardinale is expected to take personal charge of the negotiations, with AC Milan viewing the renewal of the former Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder as a priority matter.

Amorim’s glowing words

In Amorim’s tactical plans, Rabiot can operate either in midfield or as an attacking midfielder behind the striker. The Portuguese coach has been won over by the Frenchman, as he admitted on the eve of the match against Venezia: "I didn’t know him before arriving here. Rabiot is a crucial player for us. I love him. We want him to stay and, if possible, we also want to renew his contract. He knows it: he is eager to learn, despite his age. In training he helps the young players, like Diawara. He is still a long way from his ideal condition, but he has already given us a great hand."

How much Rabiot earns

Rabiot joined AC Milan last summer from Marseille for around €10 million, including bonuses. The midfielder, born in 1995 and previously a major target for former Rossoneri manager Massimiliano Allegri, signed a deal running until 30 June 2028 worth €5 million net per season.
