Punjab National Bank: Punjab National Bank (PNB) organized the PNB AI Summit 2026. Policy makers, regulators, industry leaders, academia, technology experts, fintech innovators and cyber security professionals came together in this summit.
The summit discussed the revolutionary role of Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies and Cyber Security in shaping the future of the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
Big names including PNB MD and CEO Ashok Chandra were present.
This 2-day summit was started by DFS Additional Secretary Debashish Prasti. On this occasion, MD and CEO of PNB Ashok Chandra, Chief Executive of IBA Atul Kumar Goyal, QTC Head of National Quantum Mission of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India JBV Reddy, IS Advisor Gulshan Rai and Dean of IIT Kanpur Dr. Prateek Sen were also present.

Chief guest of the event and Additional Secretary, DFS, Debashish Prasty addressed the summit and stressed on the need for synergy between the adoption of AI in banking and the national ‘India AI Mission’.
MD & CEO Ashok Chandra, in his welcome address, highlighted PNB’s vision of using Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and Agentic AI to improve customer service, operational efficiency, risk management and financial inclusion.
JBV Reddy, QTC Head, National Quantum Mission, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, spoke on quantum-safe banking and the importance of future-ready cyber security architecture.
IBA Chief Executive Atul Kumar Goyal stressed the importance of collaborative innovation and cyber resilience across the entire banking ecosystem.
‘Cyber Security Hackathon 2026’ concludes successfully
A special feature of the summit was the successful completion of ‘Cyber Security Hackathon 2026’. It was organized by Punjab National Bank under the supervision of Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, under the PSB Hackathon Series 2026.
PNB in collaboration with IIT Kanpur organized Cyber Security Hackathon 2026 on the theme “Quantum-Proof Systems for Public-Facing Applications”. This hackathon challenged participants to build an automated solution that can assess public-facing applications, identify cryptographic implementations, verify post-quantum cryptography (PQC) readiness, and generate cryptographic bills of materials (CBOM).
Winners of PNB Cyber Security Hackathon 2026 honored with cash prizes for their innovative solutions; These solutions helped deal with emerging cyber threats and strengthen the security of the banking sector.
Visit to AI Experience Zone
During this, there was a visit to the AI Experience Zone, which included around 20 kiosks of leading fintechs, hyperscalers, technology companies, startups and knowledge partners. These also included well-known names like AWS, Microsoft and Google, which showcased cutting-edge AI, GenAI, cyber security, analytics and customer service solutions.
