In an interview given to NDTV on Saturday, 29 August 2026, when Sandeep Khosla was asked about copying and replica of couture, he expressed his opinion very clearly. He said that if someone wants to take inspiration from his design or want to copy it, then at least an effort should be made to make a better version of it.
Referring to Urvanshi’s look, Sandeep Khosla said that he had seen it a few days ago and he felt that Urvashi had copied Gigi Hadid’s design. In an influencer’s post, people were allegedly being told where the original Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla outfit could be made.

Expressing his displeasure over Urvashi’s look, the designer said that according to him, the reason for such direct copying could be either lack of adequate fashion exposure or too much exposure. He also raised the question why instead of copying the work of an artist, he did not add his own creative touch to it.
Sandeep Khosla not only raised questions on the outfit, but also expressed disappointment over the copied design being promoted on social media. He said that instead of copying an original design, something new should be added to it. And then, that person (influencer) is actually promoting copying, which I really think… there should be at least some difference, or something should be done… it should be an artist’s own take to do something different. Also, this is called very easy fashion.
