Kerala : The case of death of two women from Kerala in California, America has created a stir. The Central Government has informed about taking necessary steps to bring the bodies of both of them to India. The deceased have been identified as Anjana, a resident of Mudikcode in Thrissur district, and N Mattew, a resident of Keshavadaspuram in Thiruvananthapuram district, by their relatives. According to Anjana’s relative Vinod, Anila, a resident of Kottayam, who was an acquaintance of both the women, is said to be a suspect in the case and is currently in the custody of the US police.
A mountain of sorrow fell on Anjana’s family.
Vinod told that all three women lived in the same apartment with their families and did different jobs. On Saturday, Anjana’s family in Thrissur received information through phone that she was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital. Later the news of his death came to light. He told that the family knew N Mathew through video calls, but they did not have personal acquaintance with Anila. Anjana’s husband Vijesh is deeply shocked by the incident and is trying to recover from the tragic incident while taking care of their six-year-old daughter. According to information received from the US, Anila allegedly attacked N Matthew with a knife in her apartment and later hit Anjana with a car. Anjana had gone to America in the year 2021 and was living with her husband and daughter.

Union Minister Suresh Gopi said that the necessary process has been started to bring the bodies of both the women to India. He said the Indian Consulate in San Francisco has been contacted and the agencies involved in the last rites have been instructed to complete the necessary documentary process. According to the minister, US authorities may retain the bodies for further investigation. Therefore, the timeline for when the bodies will be handed over to the family members in America and when they will be sent to India is not clear yet. He expressed hope that the situation will become clear after receiving the latest information from the embassy. The entire reason behind the incident and other important facts are expected to be revealed only after the police investigation and official report.
