Mileage is still one of the most important factors for customers while buying a car in India. Generally, luxury cars are associated with high fuel consumption and expensive maintenance. But Lexus has tried to change this thinking with the new generation Lexus ES 350h.
The company has launched this luxury hybrid sedan in India at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 66.10 lakh. The biggest feature of the car is its claimed mileage of 25.22 kmpl.
25.22 kmpl mileage, power will come from hybrid powertrain
The new Lexus ES 350h uses a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine along with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery.
This hybrid powertrain is capable of delivering a combined power of about 186 bhp. The special thing is that despite the size and weight of the luxury sedan, the company is giving a claimed mileage of 25.22 kmpl.
This mileage makes it special for those customers who want fuel efficiency along with a premium car.
The sedan has become bigger and more premium than before
The new generation ES 350h has been made bigger and more attractive than the old model. The length of the car is 5,145 mm and wheelbase is 2,950 mm.
Due to the long wheelbase, there is expected to be good space for passengers in the cabin. Talking about design, it has Lexus' signature twin 'L' shaped headlights and a new bold spindle grille.
The car has been introduced in color options like White Nova, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome, Graphite Black, SOU and Sonic Copper.
Large 14-inch screen and high-tech features
The cabin features a modern design with the use of premium materials and leather. A 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system is provided on the dashboard.
Apart from this, the car has been provided with electric door latch, hidden anti-lit switch and many advanced connectivity features. The company's focus is not only on technology but also on providing quiet and comfortable driving experience to the passengers.
Competition with BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class
In the Indian market, Lexus ES 350h will compete with luxury sedans like BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
However, the biggest feature of ES 350h is its Self-Charging Hybrid system. This means that the customer does not have to depend on separate charging infrastructure like an electric car.
Focus on mileage along with luxury
The new Lexus ES 350h can attract customers who want luxury, comfort and premium features along with better fuel efficiency. With a starting price of Rs 66.10 lakh and a claimed mileage of 25.22 kmpl, this sedan offers a distinct option in the Indian luxury car market.
