In the second Test match played against England at Lord’s, Pakistan had to face a humiliating defeat and lost the series 2-0. In this match, Pakistan performed poorly in batting and had to face defeat. Imam ul Haq was injured while fielding on the first day of the second match. Therefore he did not come out to bat in both the innings. Now questions are being raised on his injury.
Questions raised on Imam ul Haq’s injury
A board source has told PTI that Imam will return to Pakistan before the third Test. After the news of the injury came out, there was speculation whether Imam’s injury was really so serious that he could not come to bat. If sources are to be believed, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has given instructions to form a committee for a detailed investigation of this matter and this committee may be asked to submit the report as soon as possible. However, an official announcement is awaited from the PCB regarding the investigation into Imam’s injury.
Broad had raised questions
Imam had reached the field to take throwdown for batting practice in the morning before the start of play on the fourth day of the second match played at Lord’s. The calf of Imam’s left leg was taped and he was also seen limping during practice. After this, former England fast bowler Stuart Broad told that Imam has tried to show that he is injured. In such a situation, if any kind of irregularity is found in Imam’s injury during PCB’s investigation, then he may have to face strict disciplinary action.
