Juventus, the Serie A club, have stepped up their search for another striker over the past few days, and their move for Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade has advanced rapidly.
Juventus had come close to reaching an agreement with Newcastle United over a straight loan arrangement, but the player’s final approval for the switch was still pending.
Gianluca Di Marzio has now reported that Woltemade will certainly become a Juventus player. An agreement has been struck between the Bianconeri and Newcastle United, with the German striker also giving his consent to the move.
The forward is set to arrive in Italy tomorrow to complete his medical, as Juventus try to address their problems in attack, with Jonathan David heading to Atletico Madrid.
Woltemade will join on a straight loan deal. Newcastle United’s readiness to consider such an arrangement encouraged Juventus to pursue the Germany international, especially with Manchester United asking for stronger guarantees before allowing Joshua Zirkzee to leave.
This move could be highly significant for Woltemade. He now has an opportunity to make an impact again after an underwhelming season with Newcastle United. He may not immediately become a regular starter in attack, but his arrival gives Luciano Spalletti greater tactical flexibility, as Woltemade is also capable of operating as a number 10.
