Lucknow. Controversy has arisen regarding the promotion of Dr. Ravikant, teacher of Hindi Department of Lucknow University. In this matter, a complaint letter along with an affidavit has been written to the Vice Chancellor demanding immediate cancellation of the promotion. It has been alleged in the complaint that during the promotion of Dr. Ravikant, information about the cases pending against him was hidden. The promotion letter was issued by the university on June 8, 2026.

Criminal case also mentioned in the affidavit

Complainant Kartik Pandey has claimed that a case has been registered against teacher Ravikant in Hasanganj police station under FIR number 110/2022 under sections 153A, 504, 505(2) of IPC and section 66 of the Information Technology Act. This matter is said to be pending in the court.

Apart from this, another case has also been mentioned. It has been told that petition number 1510/2025 has been filed against the teacher in the High Court, Lucknow. The complainant alleges that the promotion was given despite knowing about these matters.

Questions have also been raised on the role of the Registrar in the complaint. It is alleged that despite the responsibilities of the Registrar being fixed in the University Act, the promotion process was carried forward even after having information about the matters. However, in this matter LU spokesperson Prof. Mukul Srivastava says that there is no departmental case pending against Dr. Ravikant at the university level.
