The beginning of every month brings relief or a new challenge for the common man, but this time on the very first day of the month, a big bomb of inflation has exploded on the public. From today, prices of many essential commodities have increased across the country, which is sure to have a direct impact on the pockets of the common man. The prices of LPG cylinders, CNG, PNG and milk which are everyday necessities have started skyrocketing. Amidst the ever-increasing expenses, this latest increase has further increased the concern of the middle class and poor families. Let us know which things have increased in price from today and how much impact it will have on your pocket.
The increased prices of LPG cylinders are proving to be a big blow for the housewives who manage the kitchen budget. Petroleum companies have revised the prices of commercial and domestic gas cylinders, after which the new rates have come into effect from today. Increase in LPG prices before the festive season can completely spoil the kitchen budget. Experts believe that this decision has been taken due to fluctuations in crude oil prices in the international market and increasing transportation costs. Due to cylinder becoming expensive everywhere from metros to small towns, it is putting additional financial burden on restaurants, hotels and small food businessmen.
Today has also brought bad news for people traveling by vehicles and families using piped natural gas. The prices of CNG i.e. Compressed Natural Gas and PNG i.e. Piped Natural Gas have been increased. Due to costlier fuel, there is a strong possibility of increase in auto, taxi and cab fares, which will impact the daily commuters. Apart from this, due to the increase in the price of PNG reaching homes, the household expenditure every month has automatically increased. Due to the expensiveness of these fuels, which are considered environmentally friendly, people are now left with no other option but to think about public transport or other options.
There has also been a fresh increase in the prices of milk, which is a basic need of the common man. Major dairy and milk producing companies of the country have increased the prices of various variants of milk, which is effective from today. Due to milk becoming expensive, not only drinking milk but also all the things made from it like curd, cheese, butter and ghee have become expensive. In this era of rising inflation, rising prices of essential commodities like milk are deeply affecting the monthly budget of common families. Nutrition experts say that rising milk prices have made it more challenging for many families to afford a balanced diet.
Apart from fuel and milk, there has been a rise in prices on many other fronts as well, due to which packaged food and other essential goods sold in the market have become expensive. Retail inflation figures were already troubling the general public and now this new increase has further tightened the market situation. Business organizations and common citizens say that the government should take concrete steps to control inflation so that everyday needs do not become beyond the reach of the common man. If there is no relief in these prices in the coming days, it may have a negative impact on demand and consumption in the market.
