Swine Flu Delhi: A continuous increase in the cases of swine flu (H1N1) is being recorded in Delhi. According to the Health Department report, 48 new cases were reported on August 30. Similarly, 53 out of 119 cases of malaria and 8 out of 22 cases of chikungunya were registered in August.

Dengue cases increased more than double in August

According to MCD data, 40 dengue cases were reported in July, which increased to 90 in August. Earlier, 52 cases were registered in April, 35 in May and 39 in June. This increase in August has increased the challenge of the administration regarding mosquito control.

Highest number of dengue cases in western region

In the region-wise figures, the western region leads with 47 cases. After this, 39 cases have been registered in the Central region, 32 in North Shahdara, 28 in Civil Lines and 21 in the Southern region. 19 cases have been reported in City SP, 18 in Najafgarh, 17 in Rohini and 16 in Narela.

More than half of malaria cases in August

Malaria has also gained momentum in August. 66 cases were reported from January to July, while 53 new cases were reported in August alone. Of the 119 cases reported so far this year, almost half are from the month of August. The western region has the highest number of 22 cases, while 17 cases have been found in the southern region and 16 in the central region.

The rate of chikungunya also increased

Chikungunya cases are less in number, but an increase was also seen in August. One case was reported in January, one in February, three in March, two in April, four in May, three in June and three in July. Eight cases have been registered so far in August.
