SCO Summit PAK Photo: Islamabad. A picture shared from Pakistan’s official social media account during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit came into discussion. Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office initially shared a version of the group photo of SCO leaders in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not visible. After this, questions started being raised regarding this post on social media. However, after some time, the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared the entire group photo on their X account.
Full picture shared later
Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office later posted the entire group photo of the SCO meeting. All the prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi are visible in it. It was told in the post that this photo was taken on 1 September 2026 during the SCO Council of Heads of State Summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. In the picture, along with the leaders of SCO member countries, representatives of specially invited countries are also seen.
Many leaders were cropped in the first post
In the initial post of Pakistani PMO, apart from Narendra Modi, some other leaders were also cropped from the picture. These include the names of SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Mongolia’s President Ukhnagiin Khurelsukh. Shehbaz Sharif was placed in the center in the cropped photo.

After the reaction on social media to the initial photo, the entire group photo was also shared from the personal X account of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. All the leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi were visible in this picture. Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif and all other leaders were also present in the group photo shared by PM Modi.
Questions also raised on the video of SCO meeting
A claim also surfaced on social media that a video shared from Shehbaz Sharif’s official Facebook account showed the roundtable meeting of SCO leaders, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not visible in it. Social media users also raised questions regarding this video. However, independent verification of individual social media posts and their edited versions is required.

After Pakistan’s initial post surfaced, social media users started sharing the entire group photo. Many users also compared the cropped photo and the original photo. Due to this, this matter became a topic of discussion on social media. After the full picture came out, reactions were seen among the social media users of both the countries.

Heads of state and government of member countries participated in the SCO summit. Official photographs and videos of leaders at such international events are usually released from the official social media accounts of the respective countries. In this case also, after the full picture was shared later, the discussion regarding cropping of the picture in the initial post intensified.
