LONDON: Victoria Beckham celebrated her son Romeo Beckham’s 24th birthday on Monday while also marking a major milestone for her fashion and beauty business, which has recorded an operating profit for the first time in 18 years.

The former Spice Girls singer and fashion designer took to Instagram on September 1 to pay tribute to her second eldest son, sharing previously unseen family photographs.

One image showed Victoria posing with Romeo, while another featured her alongside husband David Beckham and their son.

“Romeo, you have the biggest smile and even bigger heart. You are smart, kind and loved by us all so much,” Victoria wrote.

“We are so proud of the incredible young man you have become. You treat everyone with such respect and kindness,” she added.

“Happy Birthday @romeobeckham we love you.”

Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, also marked the occasion with a red heart emoji, while David Beckham shared his own birthday message for his son.

“Happy Birthday mate, we love you so much, and I’m so proud of you for all you are as a person, sweet, kind and just an amazing young man,” David wrote.

“Love you so so much. Have the best day ever; you deserve it.”

Victoria’s birthday tribute comes amid reports of distance between the Beckham family and their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz.

Business milestone

The family celebrations coincided with a significant development for Victoria Beckham’s eponymous fashion and beauty label.

The business, launched with a ready-to-wear collection at New York Fashion Week in 2008, has struggled to turn a profit during much of its history.

The designer said the achievement followed years of work to address difficulties within the business.

“We have all worked hard for a long time for this moment of profitability and growth,” Beckham said.

“We’ve been very transparent about the problems that we had in the business but have recovered and are now growing at a sensible pace,” she added.

The milestone marks a turnaround for Beckham’s fashion and beauty venture, which has expanded from its original fashion offering into a wider luxury brand.
