During the last one year during India's BRICS Chairmanship, several important initiatives were taken to advance dialogue, engagement and cooperation. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday shared a glimpse of the entire visit ahead of the BRICS summit.

The Ministry of External Affairs said on the social media platform 'X' that India's BRICS Chairmanship has completed a full year of dialogue and engagement with focus on resilience, innovation, cooperation and stability building.

According to the ministry, these four pillars define the priorities of India's BRICS chairmanship. Through these, emphasis was laid on discussing common challenges among the member countries, strengthening mutual cooperation and exploring new opportunities for development.

The Ministry of External Affairs also shared a video highlighting the year's activities and initiatives ahead of the BRICS Summit. In this, the direction of efforts and cooperation made in various fields during India's presidency has been put forward.

The clip starts with a message that 'the future is not decided in advance, we create it.' It talks about the power that is inspiring people to solve problems through dialogue even in today's uncertain times. It has been made clear that this power comes from unity and moving forward together.

In the clip, an aspiration that started two decades ago can be seen turning into a beautiful relationship. BRICS, which was earlier an alliance of 4 countries, has now grown to include 11 countries. India is presiding over it for the fourth time.

The aim of which, under India's leadership, is to link flexibility with the ability to deal with global crises, innovation with technology and new solutions, cooperation with partnerships among member countries and stability with long-term and inclusive development. So far, more than 400 BRICS meetings have been held in 30 cities of the member countries.

In India, this responsibility has not been taken up by any one state but by many states at different times. In this one year, India has given a beautiful shape to the dialogue.

MEA has defined the lotus shape logo in this video. According to him, the first pillar (first petal) maintains flexibility by connecting with the ground, in which as soon as any adverse situation is detected, everyone immediately starts trying to overcome the risk. Its second pillar focuses on innovation. Under this, start up funds are provided and new ideas are given a chance to flourish.

The third pillar inspires to move forward with cooperation. Under this, the thought of moving forward matters. To raise oneself so high that the voice can be heard far away. The objective is clear that the Global South needs not only to be heard but also to be led. The fourth pillar inspires progress towards stability and sustainable development. The idea is that people should get green and clean energy.

During its BRICS chairmanship, India has also emphasized on strengthening the voice of the Global South and giving prominence to issues of common interest to developing countries. Increasing economic, technological, social and strategic cooperation among BRICS countries amid the changing global circumstances makes the role of this group more important.
