The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has begun preparations to conduct the physical test for the recruitment. Additionally, chips will be attached to the candidates' legs during the run to accurately record data regarding the distance covered and the time taken. **Running Test from September 8 to 15**
The UPPRPB is scheduled to conduct the running test for Home Guard recruitment from September 8 to 15, with September 16 designated as a reserve day. The schedule has already been released, and preparations—including the preparation of grounds—are underway. Before this, the UPPRPB had already conducted the physical examination and document verification for candidates who passed the written test, covering the period from July 13 to August 7.

**Events to be Held at 15 Locations Across the State**
The UPPRPB will organize the running test at 15 locations across the state. These runs will be conducted on a zonal basis at all 15 designated sites.

According to reports, the run for candidates in the Meerut Zone will be held at the 6th Battalion PAC (Meerut) and the 47th Battalion PAC (Ghaziabad). Meanwhile, for the Varanasi Zone, the run will be organized at the 39th Battalion PAC (Mirzapur) and the Reserve Police Lines (Jaunpur New). Running events will be held at the 4th Battalion PAC (Prayagraj) for the Prayagraj Zone and at the Reserve Police Lines (Sant Kabir Nagar) for the Gorakhpur Zone. Similarly, races will be organized for candidates at the following locations: 45th Battalion PAC (Aligarh) for the Agra Zone; 33rd Battalion PAC (Jhansi) for the Kanpur Zone; 8th Battalion PAC (Bareilly) and 9th Battalion PAC (Moradabad) for the Bareilly Zone; and 35th Battalion PAC (Lucknow), 32nd Battalion PAC (Lucknow), 25th Battalion PAC (Raebareli), 10th Battalion PAC (Barabanki), and 11th Battalion PAC (Sitapur) for the Lucknow Zone.

**What is the required running distance?**
For the UP Home Guard recruitment, male candidates must complete a 4.8-kilometer run within 28 minutes, while female candidates must complete a 2.4-kilometer run within 16 minutes. The races will be conducted in two shifts daily: the first shift will begin at 5:00 AM, and the second shift will start at 6:00 AM.

**Leg-mounted chips to track performance**
Chips attached to the candidates' legs will track their running performance during the UP Home Guard recruitment. Such chips have been used in UP Home Guard recruitment races since 2016. Under this system, a band containing a computer chip is strapped to the candidate's leg. This chip counts every step taken while running and records data such as the distance covered and the duration of any pauses. Additionally, the chip allows the candidate's location to be monitored on a computer system.
