3IND vs NZ: The Indian cricket team will tour New Zealand in October-November, where both the teams will play five ODIs and five T20Is, as well as a two-match Test series. This test series is very important for India’s chances in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). This will give Team India a chance to understand and adapt to the situation before the Test series against New Zealand. Before the senior Indian team, India A will play three four-day matches against New Zealand A. These matches will be an important opportunity for India to prepare before the Test series.
India A team will tour New Zealand
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced its domestic red-ball schedule on Tuesday, September 1, consisting of three four-day matches between India A and New Zealand A. All the matches of this series starting from October 24 will be played in Christchurch.
New Zealand Cricket said in its official statement, “The red-ball domestic season will also include international level excitement, with the New Zealand A team playing three four-day matches against India A in Christchurch from 24 October.” These matches will help the Indian players to prepare for the fast and bouncy pitches of New Zealand. Many senior Indian players are also expected to play in this series.
India-New Zealand test series will start from November 19
Team India’s tour of New Zealand will take place between October and November. Both teams will play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Test matches. First the T20I series will start, followed by the ODI series and then the Test series. The first Test match between India and New Zealand will be played in Wellington from 19 to 23 November. The second and last Test between the two teams will be held in Christchurch from 27 November to 1 December.
This series is also important for both the teams from the point of view of the World Test Championship (WTC) final. India is currently at number 5 in the WTC points table, while New Zealand is at number three. If Team India has to play in the final, it will have to win all the remaining matches. It is worth noting that the last time both the teams played a Test series in India, New Zealand had defeated Team India 3-0.
