Manchester United were reportedly approached with a loan offer for promising forward Victor Musa, but the club decided against sanctioning the move.
Musa has been progressing steadily since arriving at United in the summer of 2023.
The 19-year-old started out at CD Lourdes in Spain before moving to England and joining Bradford City. It was from there that he secured his move to the Red Devils.
Last season, he featured 18 times in all competitions, registering four goals and four assists.
During the recently concluded summer transfer window, United were open to allowing some of their young talents to leave, either permanently or on loan, so they could gain regular first-team football.
United also ensured that sell-on clauses and other financial safeguards were inserted into the permanent departures of players who left the club.
According to Football Insider journalist Peter O’Rourke, there was a chance for Musa to move on, but United had no interest in letting that happen.
It is understood that the Red Devils want to retain him, seemingly so they can oversee his development closely themselves.
O’Rourke wrote, “Understand Manchester United have turned down a loan offer from Bromley for striker Victor Musa as they have no plans to loan out the forward this window.”
United are expected to review Musa’s situation again in January, once six months of the season have elapsed.
If he continues to impress and United believe he is ready for the next step, he could either head out on loan or be promoted into Michael Carrick’s first-team set-up.
Carrick has already made it abundantly clear that he will not hesitate to bring through young players he believes are ready to step up to the senior squad.
