India's leading automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has reported record sales in August 2026. The company has sold a total of 67,753 vehicles in the domestic and international markets. Compared to last year's 43,315 units in August 2025, the company's sales have grown by a whopping 56 percent. Due to this strong performance, Tata Motors has retained its position as the second largest in the country after Maruti Suzuki.
Tata Motors' domestic passenger vehicle segment sold 65,253 units, up 59 percent from last year's 41,001 units. Apart from this, 2,500 cars have been sent to the international market, an increase of 8 percent. Bookings for Tata's zero-emission (electric) vehicles in India have tripled in the last six months.

Electric vehicles accounted for the largest share of these sales. In August 2026, Tata Motors sold 16,549 electric cars in the domestic and international markets combined. Compared to 8,540 units in August 2025, the e-vehicle segment has registered a whopping 94 percent growth. Nexon EV, Punch EV, Tiago EV and the recently launched Harrier EV and Sierra EV have been major contributors to these sales.
