Samsung’s Security Glitch Is Locking Galaxy Users Out Without Warning, And There’s Still No Fix

Some Galaxy users are suddenly finding themselves locked out of their Samsung Accounts, with no prior warning and no clear way back in. The issue has escalated dramatically across Reddit and Samsung Community forums, where affected users are met with a blunt error message reading “Can’t sign in. Account deactivated for security reasons.”

There seems to be no pattern to who gets hit. Some users say their account was working perfectly fine minutes before it suddenly got deactivated. And this isn’t a case of an older phone acting up either — both Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S23 owners have reported the exact same problem, which points to something wrong on Samsung’s account servers rather than an issue tied to any particular device.

Password Resets Offer No Way Out

Adding to user frustration is that the standard fix simply doesn’t work. Resetting the account password does not resolve the lock, as the same deactivation warning reappears on screen soon after. For users, this has meant losing access to more than just a login screen. A Samsung account keeps data synced across devices and powers several connected features, so getting locked out also cuts off services like Samsung Find, Samsung Wallet and SmartThings, leaving people unable to track a lost device, reach stored payment details or manage smart home gadgets tied to their account.

Samsung Acknowledges The Problem

Samsung has since acknowledged the problem, telling users who reached out that it is aware of the issue on its end. That said, the company hasn’t explained what’s actually triggering the deactivations or given any word on when a fix might arrive, so for now, affected users are simply left waiting.

No Timeline, No Clear Workaround

With no fix in sight yet, a lot of affected users have gone straight to Samsung support for help. But the results have been mixed at best, and whether someone actually gets their account back seems to depend largely on which agent picks up their case. Until Samsung rolls out an actual fix, Galaxy owners, whether they’re on an older phone or a brand new one, are still at risk of getting locked out of their accounts out of nowhere.
