The summer transfer window in Europe reached its final deadline last Tuesday (1st) across the five major leagues. Any new signings now will only be possible from January 1, 2027.

So this is the moment for OneFootball to rank the 15 best deals of the window.

The selections below consider transfers completed for “interesting” fees relative to the player’s quality, market opportunities, footballers who are likely to make a major impact at their new clubs, and also calculated gambles that could turn out to be exactly right.

Dibu Martínez (GK)

Aston Villa ▶️ Chelsea - 8.75 million euros

The Argentine goalkeeper’s departure from the Birmingham club had come close to happening in the previous window.

And just when it looked as though he would stay once again, PSG did not complete the signing of Suzuki, who was then brought in by Aston Villa.

Dibu was no longer set to be the undisputed first-choice keeper at Villa. That was when Chelsea sensed the opportunity and moved for a goalkeeper expected to provide greater security.

Dumfries (RB)

Inter Milan ▶️ Real Madrid - 20 million euros

For Real, it was a “bargain” considering the Dutch full-back’s talent and physical strength, even though he is already 30.

Dumfries’ arrival could also serve as a wake-up call for Alexander-Arnold after a start at Real that has fallen well short of expectations.

Luka Vuskovic (CB)

Tottenham ▶️ Brighton - 54 million euros

At 26, Van Hecke left the Seagulls for Tottenham in a deal worth 60 million euros.

And Brighton turned to Spurs themselves to find a replacement.

Vuskovic had been on loan at Hamburg, impressed there, and returned to England for 54 million.

He is younger at 19, has significant room for development, and stands a strong chance of being sold in future for an even bigger fee.

Cucurella (LB)

Chelsea ▶️ Real Madrid - 55 million euros

The Chelsea left-back had already been one of the few positives in an inconsistent season for the Blues.

He was eventually transferred in the lead-up to the World Cup, a competition in which he delivered performances at a very high level. He arrives to take full control of a position that has remained open since Marcelo’s exit.

Rodri (DM)

The Spanish midfielder made an excellent recovery from a serious injury. He had an outstanding World Cup and was named the best player of the tournament.

Manchester City did not want to sell him, but they considered both his age, 30, and the fact that he had only one year remaining on his contract.

Barcelona, meanwhile, beat Real to the deal for a player who suits their style of play and who prioritised being in Catalonia alongside several World Cup winners.

Enzo Fernández (M)

Chelsea ▶️ Manchester City - 145 million euros

This was the final major transfer to be completed.

Chelsea only agreed to part with their undisputed starter after moving close to signing Camara from Monaco.

They eventually missed out on the Senegal midfielder, but did not break off negotiations with City.

Enzo arrives to become the new main man in midfield, an area that has also been reinforced with Anderson for 135 million and Bouaddi for 95 million.

The fee cannot even be described as “absurd” given Enzo’s quality, his age of 25, and the fact that Chelsea signed him for 121 million.

Bruno Guimarães (M)

Newcastle ▶️ Arsenal - 87.5 million euros

It was far from easy, but the reigning English champions succeeded in taking the Brazilian midfielder away from Newcastle.

Bruno Guimarães arrives with the potential to dominate midfield alongside Rice and Ødegaard.

Tielemans (M)

Aston Villa ▶️ Manchester United - 41 million euros

He was the captain and the midfield “owner” in Unai Emery’s side alongside Onana.

Now he will have the responsibility of sharing the creative and technical leadership with Bruno Fernandes.

Bernardo Silva (M)

Manchester City ▶️ Real Madrid - free transfer

He is the representative of the “free agents” on this list.

He may not even be an undisputed starter under Mourinho because of the level of competition, but he brings experience and enormous quality.

After years of displaying his football at City, he adds even more depth to Madrid’s squad full of stars.

Kang-in Lee (M)

PSG ▶️ Atlético de Madrid - 35 million euros

Another “bargain” of this transfer market.

The South Korean did not get the amount of space he had hoped for at PSG.

The expectation is that he can reproduce the level he showed at Mallorca.

Rodrigo Mora (AM/FW)

Porto ▶️ Roma - 25 million euros

He is only 19 and possesses a great deal of potential.

His body of work at Porto may have been limited, but it was enough to attract attention.

It is a signing made by the Giallorossi with the near future very much in mind.

Ismael Saibari (FW)

PSV ▶️ Bayern - 50 million euros

He had just come through two strong seasons with the Eredivisie club.

He was officially announced during the GOOD World Cup he enjoyed with Morocco.

He can be a dependable alternative to Kane or play alongside the Englishman, preferably from the left.

Tzolis (FW)

Club Brugge ▶️ Arsenal - 40 million euros

The Greek winger was coming off 33 goals and 43 assists over two seasons with Brugge.

And he was Arsenal’s chosen bet for the left wing.

Tzolis is already making an impression at the beginning of his time in England.

That includes a strong performance in the Super Cup final.

Malen (FW)

Aston Villa ▶️ Roma - 25 million euros

He had arrived in Italy in January on loan for a fee of 2 million euros.

And he stood out IMMENSELY over six months, producing 15 goals and two assists in 20 matches.

That convinced the club from the Eternal City to activate the 25-million-euro purchase clause.

Malen already has five goals after two rounds of the current Serie A season.

Aubameyang (FW)

Marseille ▶️ Deportivo - 1.5 million euros

After a great season at Marseille, Auba spent time at Al-Qadisiyah and then returned to the French club.

He then surprised everyone by joining Depor, now back in Spain’s top division.

His start has been more than positive, with three goals already in La Liga.

And that has come at 37 years of age.
