The good news is that all three major telecom companies—Jio, Airtel, and Vi (Vodafone Idea)—provide online coverage map tools on their websites, allowing you to check signal strength from the comfort of your home. Here is how you can check this.

What are the benefits of viewing online 5G coverage maps?
The 4–5 signal bars displayed on your phone screen do not always reflect the actual ground reality. Furthermore, it is not feasible to physically visit another city or a new area just to check signal strength. This is where the colorful, interactive maps on the companies' online portals prove very useful; they instantly reveal the extent of 5G coverage.

How to check Jio's 5G network coverage online?

First, open Jio's official coverage portal directly.
You will see three options—4G + 5G, 5G, and 4G—at the top left of the screen.
Select the filter based on your requirements.
If you want to view only the 5G coverage area, click on the '5G' tab.
Next, type your area's name or 6-digit PIN code into the search box.
Alternatively, you can tap on 'Use your current location'.
To do this, you will need to grant the browser permission to access your GPS location.

An easy way to view Airtel's 5G coverage map:

First, visit Airtel's network coverage webpage.
Here, the company displays information for all three networks: 2G, 4G, and 5G.
To check the status of 5G specifically, select the '5G' option (displayed in green).
Now, enter your full address or area PIN code into the search bar.
You can also use the 'current location' feature to instantly view live signal details for your present location.

How to track Vi (Vodafone Idea) 5G coverage?
First, visit Vi's official coverage portal.
You will see a drop-down menu at the bottom left of the screen; select the network you wish to check from there.
Next, enter your address, city, or PIN code in the location box.
The portal's map will then display the complete 5G network coverage for your area.

If you are traveling to an unfamiliar city, hill station, or remote location, make sure to check the network status there just before you leave. This is particularly useful when mobile data is your only means for navigation or UPI payments during the journey.
