New Delhi: A property dealer was shot dead outside a gym in Delhi's Narela area on Thursday morning, triggering panic among local residents. The victim, identified as Pramod, was attacked when unidentified assailants opened fire at him before fleeing the spot.
According to police, the incident took place around 7:15 am when the attackers arrived on a scooter and fired multiple rounds at the property dealer outside the gym. Pramod sustained serious injuries and died following the attack.
Police Probe Extortion Angle
Police teams immediately reached the crime spot and launched an investigation. Initial information suggests that the killing could be linked to a possible extortion- dispute, officials said.
However, the exact motive behind the murder remains unclear. Investigators are scanning CCTV footage from the area and trying to identify the attackers who escaped soon after the shooting.
Family, Locals Protest After Killing
Following the incident, Pramod's family members and local residents gathered on the road and staged a protest. They blocked traffic and demanded swift action against those responsible for the killing.
Police officials have assured the family that efforts are underway to trace the accused and bring them to justice.
