As soon as the name of Janmashtami comes, the picture of Mathura and Vrindavan emerges before the eyes, but the celebration of the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna is also seen in many other cities of the country. In many historical temples of North India, special puja, adornment, aarti and bhajan-kirtan are organized on the occasion of Janmashtami.
