Skoda’s entry-level SUV, the Kylaq, has been in the market for a couple of years and has turned out to be an extremely successful model for the brand. In fact, it is one of the best-selling models for Skoda in India. It was only recently that Skoda launched a Sportline version of the Kylaq in the market. Skoda has now released an official TVC for the same online.

The video has been shared by Skoda India on its YouTube channel. In the video, Skoda showcases the exterior changes and feature updates that differentiate the Kylaq Sportline from the regular version. From the video, it is evident that Skoda is marketing it as a much sportier version.

Skoda launched the Kylaq Sportline at a starting price of Rs 11.32 lakh, ex-showroom. The Kylaq Sportline variant retains the same basic design as the regular version. Skoda has made cosmetic changes to give it a sportier appeal. It comes with several blacked-out elements, including the front grille, ORVMs, 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, black branding on the tailgate, a dual-tone roof, glossy-black front and rear diffusers, an integrated roof spoiler with inlets, a shark-fin antenna, Sportline badges on the C-pillar and tailgate, and more.

The headlights on the Sportline variant are LED projector units, and it also gets LED fog lamps. The Skoda badge on the tailgate is also blacked out.

Moving inside, the Kylaq Sportline comes with a darker cabin theme. The SUV gets black leatherette seats with contrasting white stitching and Sportline branding on the headrests. The SUV also gets aluminium pedals, as seen in the video, which give it a sportier look. The Kylaq also gets white ambient lighting and other features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital driver display, an electric single-pane sunroof, a wireless phone charger, six speakers, and more.

The Skoda Kylaq Sportline is powered by the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that generates 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. This engine is offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Prices for the Kylaq Sportline start at Rs 11.32 lakh, ex-showroom, and go all the way up to Rs 12.32 lakh, ex-showroom. It is positioned between the mid-spec Signature+ and higher-spec Prestige trims.

Skoda is also offering the Kylaq Sportline with a dedicated Sportline accessory pack. It includes front bumper corner garnishes, a dark-chrome grille garnish, fender garnishes with the Skoda logo, and gloss-black side mouldings. Towards the end of the video or TVC, we see the Kylaq joining the Kushaq and Kodiaq in the Sportline range of SUVs.

Skoda will be updating the Kylaq in the coming years and, as part of the update, we expect to see minor cosmetic changes on the outside. It may even get a Kushaq-inspired front fascia with LED connecting bars and tweaked headlamps.

One of the major updates that we expect to see in the Kylaq facelift is to the engine and transmission. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will stay the same, but the 6-speed automatic transmission in the Kylaq will be replaced with a brand-new 8-speed unit. This is the same unit that we saw in the Kushaq and the recently unveiled Slavia. The 6-speed manual transmission will continue as before.
