Kathmandu. The government has declared September 7 as a national mourning day in honor of those who lost their lives in the horrific disaster in Nepal. The cabinet meeting of the Nepal government has decided to observe National Mourning Day in honor of those who lost their lives in the floods.
Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel said that in the cabinet meeting held on Thursday afternoon, it was decided that National Mourning Day will be celebrated on September 7, the 13th day of the incident, in honor of those who lost their lives in the flood.
He said that on this day, the Nepali flag will be flown at half mast in all government offices of Nepal as well as Nepalese embassies and diplomatic missions abroad.
Similarly, the Nepal government has declared a public holiday on the first anniversary of the Zen Ji movement. In the cabinet meeting, a public holiday has been announced in the memory of the Genji youth who were shot by the police during the Genji movement on September 8.
