Mandhana’s innings came off just 64 balls, enabling India to post a total of 193 for 5. In response, Hong Kong were bowled out for 56 in 16.2 overs, with Indian spinners Deepti Sharma (3 for 9), Shree Charani (2 for 16), and Prema Rawat (2 for 12) dismantling the batting lineup. Medium pacer Nandani Sharma also took two wickets for six runs in three overs.

Hong Kong struggled to build momentum throughout their chase. Fast bowler Kranti Gaud delivered a maiden over to Natasha Miles in the opening over, followed by Nandani Sharma bowling Mariko Hill for a four-ball duck in the second over.

During the powerplay, Hong Kong scored 16 runs for the loss of one wicket, with Yasmin Daswani and Miles finding it difficult to hit boundaries. Nandani Sharma claimed her second wicket by removing Maryam Bibi for seven, and Shree Charani dismissed Marina Lamplough for 14 in the 15th over as Hong Kong slipped to 55 for 6. Deepti Sharma then took three wickets in the 16th over, dismissing Joyleen Kaur, Iqra Sahar, and Mei Wai Siu, leaving Hong Kong nine wickets down. Charani completed the innings by bowling the final wicket.

India batted first with Shafali Verma opening alongside Mandhana. The pair added 74 runs, with Verma scoring 28 off 17 balls, including three fours and two sixes, before being dismissed by Ruchitha Venkatesh. After the powerplay, Mandhana accelerated her scoring while Pratika Rawal contributed 10 runs before being dismissed by Joyleen Kaur. Richa Ghosh added 11 runs, including a four, before falling to Marina Lamplough. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur joined Mandhana late in the innings but managed only 10 runs before being dismissed.

For Hong Kong, Marina Lamplough took two wickets, while Ruchitha Venkatesh and Joyleen Kaur claimed one wicket each.

Mandhana’s innings was historic as she surpassed Mithali Raj’s record to become the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket across all formats. With this 124-run knock, she reached a total of 10,880 runs, overtaking Raj’s 10,868. The current all-time top five run-scorers in women’s international cricket are Smriti Mandhana (10,880), Mithali Raj, New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (10,740), England’s Charlotte Edwards (10,273), and West Indies’ Stafanie Taylor (10,007).
