Two big and important cars are set to hit the Indian mass-market car segment this month. These include the facelifted version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the new turbo petrol version of the Renault Triber. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will be launched on September 5, while Renault's updated RGEP platform-based Triber Turbo will hit the market later this month.
New Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift: Major changes in engine and features
The exterior, powertrain and features of the Maruti Baleno will see several significant updates. The premium hatchback will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine as the new Swift and Dzire, which generates 80 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque. This engine will be available with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.
Becoming the first choice for business and family; 1.5 lakh Maruti Suzuki Eeco sold in just three and a half years!
Interestingly, the new Baleno will also be offered with a CNG-AMT option. After the Tata Altroz, it will be the second car in the segment to offer CNG along with an automatic gearbox. Apart from this, the cabin will get a dual-tone theme, new seat upholstery, ventilated front seats and ADAS technology for safety. The exterior design of the car will see a new grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers and new alloy wheels.
Maruti Suzuki's big plan! Tata will bring a new electric car in a budget of 10 lakhs to compete with the Tiago EV
Renault Triber Turbo: more power and dual-cylinder CNG Technology
Renault is launching its 7-seater MPV Triber with a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates 99 bhp of power and 160 Nm of torque (much higher than the current 71 bhp naturally aspirated engine). This engine is taken from the Renault Kygar Turbo.
Along with this, the company may also introduce a turbo-CNG version of the Triber and a dual-cylinder factory-fitted CNG option. It will house two small CNG cylinders under the boot floor, freeing up boot space in the trunk. This option is likely to be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
