New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi The first phase of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor of his ambitious bullet train project is likely to start next year. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given important information about the proposed high speed rail corridor in the country. Due to this corridor, connectivity from Delhi to major cities in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will be faster, Delhi-Patna distance of about 1170 km can be covered in just four and a half hours.
Currently, it takes about 12 hours to cover this distance by train. The Railway Minister mentioned the proposed high speed rail network while inaugurating the newly electrified broad gauge railway line on the Nepalganj Road-Nanpara-Bahraich route. After the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Corridor, work on the high-speed rail network connecting Delhi to the cities of Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Patna will be accelerated.

The proposed high-speed rail corridor is being designed for operational speeds of up to 320 km per hour. Compared to that, the design speed of Vandebharat Railway is around 180 km per hour. The higher speed of the high speed rail is expected to save a lot of time on the long distance journey from Delhi to Bihar.
Many premium train services are launched
Currently, premium train services such as Rajdhani, Vande Bharat and Duronto are running on this route. After the completion of the High Speed Corridor, the travel time between Delhi and major cities in Uttar Pradesh-Bihar can be significantly reduced.
Travel time to many cities will be saved
Under the proposed corridor, the distance of about 200 km from Delhi to Agra can be covered in just 58 minutes. About 455 km Delhi-Kanpur journey in about 1 hour 50 minutes; It is estimated that the distance of about 495 km between Delhi-Lucknow will be completed in 2 hours and 12 minutes. Similarly, the distance of about 750 km from Delhi to Prayagraj can be covered in 3 hours, the distance of about 945 km from Delhi-Varanasi in 3 hours 33 minutes, and the distance of about 1,170 km from Delhi-Patna can be covered in four and a half hours.
