Mathura: The ninth board meeting of Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the overall development of Braj region, preservation of religious heritage and facilities for devotees. Many important proposals were agreed upon in the meeting held in the regional office auditorium of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority located in the Geeta Shodh Sansthan campus. The most important decision was taken regarding Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama. The work of Parikrama Marg will be completed in three phases in the next three years. There was also agreement on a plan to develop a system of smooth road transport parallel to the Mathura-Vrindavan rail route.

200 ancient heritages will be protected

In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on preserving the ancient heritage and historical heritage of Braj. It was decided to run 'Teerth Mitra' scheme in Braj on the lines of 'Smarak Mitra' scheme of the Culture Department. Under this, systematic conservation of 200 identified dilapidated heritage structures and monuments of high heritage will be done.

The Chief Minister also gave instructions to preserve the ancient manuscripts, knowledge and literature of Braj. The proposal of Heartfulness Foundation Hyderabad to carry out development work under CSR and donate 10 golf carts for the convenience of devotees on the Govardhan Parikrama Marg was also discussed.

Multilevel parking will have modern facilities

In view of the increasing crowd of devotees, instructions were given to develop holding areas at various places in Mathura-Vrindavan. Emphasis was also laid on creating multilevel parking under PPP or revenue sharing model. There is a plan to provide facilities like dormitory, cafe and food court in these parking places.

CM Yogi instructed the officials not to limit big projects to just approval and to continuously monitor them. Asked to expedite the old pending works and complete them within the stipulated time and give priority to public facilities.

Vrindavan Parikrama Marg will be slip free

The Chief Minister also gave instructions to make the Vrindavan Parikrama route more accessible for the devotees. He said that such stones and soil should be used in the construction of the route that it does not become slippery during rains and there is no problem in the feet of the devotees.

To solve the long standing problem of salt water in Mathura, special attention was asked to be paid to water conservation. To increase the ground water level, instructions were given to construct more and more ponds and develop rain water harvesting system.

Police patrolling will increase on Janmashtami

In view of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the Chief Minister instructed the police and administration to remain completely alert. He asked to increase police patrolling and ensure continuous presence of staff at the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC). In view of the rainy season, officials were instructed to take special precautions.

The city will be cleaned in two shifts

The Chief Minister also gave strict instructions regarding the cleanliness system of Braj. It was asked to ensure cleanliness in the city in two shifts, make door-to-door garbage collection effective and make proper arrangements for garbage disposal. The Chief Minister made it clear that along with the development works in Braj, the change in cleanliness should also be visible on the ground.

Sugarcane Development and Sugar Mills Minister Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary, Minister of State Sandeep Singh, Rajya Sabha member Tejveer Singh, MLA Puran Prakash, Meghshyam Singh, Rajesh Chaudhary, MLC Yogesh Nauhwar, Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad Vice President Shailja Kant Mishra, Chief Minister Advisor Avnish Kumar Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary Tourism Amrit Abhijat and senior officials of governance and administration were present in the meeting. Divisional Commissioner Nagendra Pratap, DIG Shailesh Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, SSP Shlok Kumar, Council Chief Executive Officer Lakshmi NG, Municipal Commissioner Ojaswi Raj and CDO Dr Pooja Gupta along with public representatives and other officers were present in the meeting.
