WhatsApp New Feature: There is good news for users using the messaging platform WhatsApp. Now the company has launched a new feature for Indian users. Under this feature, users will now be able to pay electricity, water and credit card bills through WhatsApp. For this, users can use the bill payments feature. After this feature is rolled out, users can find, manage and pay their water, electricity and credit card bills directly from WhatsApp without leaving the app. The Meta-owned messaging platform will use the Bharat Connect (BBPS) network to complete these transactions.

Support of 22,722 billers in more than 30 categories

Users will get support from 22,722 billers across more than 30 categories, including electricity, gas, water, FASTag, insurance, credit cards and loan repayments. Follow these steps to make bill payment

According to WhatsApp, after the rollout of the bill payments service, the scope of in-app payments is not limited to mobile recharges and other transactions but has expanded significantly beyond that. Users can start the bill payments service by opening WhatsApp and tapping on the ₹ (Rupees) icon at the top of the home screen. After this users have to select bill category and biller. Now fill the account details and confirm. Can pay now. But check the bill amount again before paying. You will get three payment options like UPI, Debit Card and Credit Card to pay the bill on WhatsApp.

One-tap access and multiple accounts under one biller

Another feature of this feature rolled out on WhatsApp is the Household Bills Summary. It will automatically show old bills, as well as billers you have paid in the past via WhatsApp, with 'one-tap access' on the home screen. The company says that users will be able to manage multiple accounts under the same biller. Which makes it easy to pay bills of home, office or family members from one place. Under this feature, users will automatically see popular bill categories at the top. Also, users have to select See All option to see the complete list. It will have more than 20 categories.
