Samsung Under Fire After Customer Claims Company Refused To Cover Washing Machine Door Repair Despite Active Warranty

A Samsung washing machine owner has accused the company of denying a warranty repair on the appliance’s door, sparking a fresh wave of criticism against the brand on social media. The customer, whose washing machine is still under warranty, said Samsung refused to cover the door because it is made of plastic, and plastic parts, according to the company, are not included under warranty terms.
Taking to X, the user wrote that this was something new they were hearing from Samsung, adding that the machine simply cannot function without a door. “It is not an accessory, irrespective of what material it is made of,” the post read, questioning how an internal component this essential could be left out of coverage.

Executive Response Adds To The Frustration

The customer said a Samsung executive did call back after the complaint, but the conversation went nowhere. According to the post, the executive kept repeating just one line, that the door wouldn’t be repaired because it wasn’t covered under warranty. No matter what was said, the answer stayed the same. The user called it ragebait behaviour on the company’s part and said the call ended without the actual problem being addressed.

Technician Visit A Day Later Raises Questions

In a follow-up post, the user said that a day after the complaint was closed, Samsung sent a technician back for a fresh inspection of the machine, without explaining why. The technician reportedly removed the appliance from its place and recorded videos of it, telling the customer he had been instructed to do so by the company.

A Warning To Prospective Buyers

The user said the intent behind sharing the ordeal was to warn people planning to buy a Samsung front-load washing machine. According to the post, the company’s stance that a plastic door does not qualify for warranty coverage means buyers could end up paying steep amounts for basic appliance parts, even while the product is still within its warranty period.
Samsung India has not issued a public response to the claims at the time of writing.
