Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a big claim regarding the sugarcane farmers of Uttar Pradesh. In the 'Panchayat Aaj Tak' program organized in Mathura, CM Yogi said that his government has taken the problems of farmers as an opportunity instead of a challenge. Continuous work is being done to connect farming with modern technology, irrigation, markets and better connectivity.

Changed picture regarding sugarcane farmers

According to the Chief Minister, 29 sugar mills were closed in the state between 2007 and 2017, which affected the sugarcane farmers and also led to the problem of payment. He said that after 2017 the situation has improved and currently 122 sugar mills are operating in the state.

Emphasis on irrigation and technology

CM Yogi said that to solve the problems of farmers, the closed irrigation projects were completed. This has helped in providing water to the fields. Along with this, farmers are also being encouraged to adopt modern agricultural techniques.

Efforts to provide better markets to farmers

The Chief Minister said that merely increasing production is not enough, but the farmer should also get a fair market and better price for his crop. For this purpose, road and connectivity systems are being strengthened, so that agricultural products can easily reach the markets and markets.

CM Yogi claimed that the impact of these efforts is visible on the agricultural system of the state. The government aims to further strengthen the income opportunities of farmers by connecting them to modern technology, irrigation and better markets.
