Automobile Desk: Kia is going to play a big bet to further strengthen its hold in the Indian automobile market. The company is all set to launch its flagship and new premium segment SUV 'Kia Sorento' today. This is a big news for car lovers who have been waiting for this vehicle for a long time. The company has shared official information to this much-awaited model, after which the movement in the premium car segment has intensified.

In terms of design, Kia Sorento looks quite aggressive and modern. It has Kia's signature 'Tiger Nose' grille, sporty looking roof rails, bold LED headlights at the front, sharp LED DRLs and stylish LED fog lamps. Its presence on the road will be no less noticeable than any other premium SUV.

The biggest attraction of this SUV is its interior and high-tech cabin. The first thing that catches your attention as soon as you step inside the car is its massive 30-inch curved display setup. It has a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch fully digital driver instrument cluster integrated together. Apart from this, to give a luxury touch to the cabin, soft-touch dashboard, dual-tone finish, digital AC control panel and premium rotary dial for changing gear have been provided.

No stone has been left unturned in Sorento in terms of comfort and safety. It gets features like a large panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting that changes the cabin environment, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charger, push-button start/stop and cruise control. For connectivity, it also has support for wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and advanced AI features. In terms of safety, this vehicle is equipped with safety features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology, 360-degree view camera and multiple airbags.

Talking about powertrain and performance, Kia Sorento is being offered with both petrol-hybrid and turbo-diesel engine options. Its main attraction will be the 1.6-litre capacity petrol-hybrid engine, which will not only provide excellent power but will also prove to be excellent in mileage. This will be the first all-wheel drive (AWD) hybrid SUV from Kia's portfolio. In this, customers will get both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Talking about price and market competition, the company will unveil its official prices during its launch event today itself. However, auto experts estimate that this luxurious SUV can be offered at a starting price of around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). After entering the Indian market, this vehicle will compete directly with already established big vehicles like Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
