Mathura, 4 September 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath visited the birthplace of Shri Krishna in Mathura and offered prayers and received the blessings of God. Stopping at the birthplace premises for about 30 minutes, he showered flowers on the devotees and extended his hearty greetings on Janmashtami.
Addressing the devotees on this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said, “No stone will be left unturned in the development of the entire Braj region as per the sentiments of the people. Be it Mathura, Nandgaon, Barsana, Govardhan or Vrindavan, every area will be developed as per the sentiments of the people.” He further added that the previous governments had faith in Babar and Aurangzeb, whereas the present government follows the path of Lord Ram, Krishna Kanhaiya, Baba Vishwanath and Maa Vindhyavasini.
Attacking the previous governments, the Chief Minister said that the previous rulers were afraid of coming to Mathura due to the fear of their vote bank, which led to tragedies like Jawahar Bagh. But in the present double engineer government, no such scandals take place, but Rangotsav and Brajraj Utsav are celebrated. Reiterating Lord Krishna's message of walking on the 'path of duty', he expressed his resolve to make the country a 'developed India' by working for the benefit of the nation and Sanatan Dharma.
