Local paddlers Ayaz Murad, Pratik Narang and Hussain Godhrawala booked men's main-draw berths with convincing wins in qualifying at the Tapti Valley 5th Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, held from September 3 to 6.
Murad beat Rajkot's Dhey Pithadia 11-1, 11-1, 11-2, Narang defeated Hitesh Parmar 11-3, 11-4, 11-5, while Godhrawala beat fellow Surat player Sanjay Singh 11-6, 11-2, 11-7. Other men's qualifiers included Rajkot's Het Thakar, Bhavnagar's Sagar Makwana and Niraj Dihora, and Gandhinagar's Jigar Saravaiya.
