#Ludhiana The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) on Thursday named a 77-member track and field squad for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, with Commonwealth Games bronze medallist javelin thrower Yashvir Singh replacing injured Neeraj Chopra.

Long-distance runner Abhishek Pal and 110m hurdler Tejas Shirse were dropped from the original 73-member squad. Pal was served notice by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after his sample contained a female fertility drug. AFI planning commission chief Lalit Bhanot said Pal was removed as a precaution while NADA investigates. Shirse, meanwhile, sustained two stress fractures in his left foot during the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Six athletes were added to the squad: 200m runner Harita Bhadra, quarter-miler Kiran Pahal, pole vaulter Sindhushree G, triple jumper I Asha Ilango, discus thrower Sanya Yadav and hammer thrower Praveen Kumar. The final squad comprises 34 men and 43 women.
