Actor Hugh Jackman has said he is “very interested” in investing in Norwich City.
The 57-year-old described Norwich as “an exciting team” and said he supports the club because his mother is from the city.
In an interview with TalkSPORT, he said: “I’m very interested – and talking about it right now.”
Jackman also had a light-hearted dig at his Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns Wrexham AFC with fellow actor Rob McElhenney, joking that they could soon become rivals in the Championship.
He said: “Good on Ryan, you do your thing. I’m all about the Canaries.”
“I think it’s an exciting team, and it’s going to be exciting year,” Jackman added.
“I went to Carrow Road a couple of times, and I love the Canaries, and this is the year we’re going to get promoted. That’s my prediction.
“My prediction is Norwich and Wrexham are getting promoted this year.”
If the move goes through, Jackman would become the latest high-profile name to enter the football ownership space, following figures such as Reynolds and McElhenney at Wrexham, as well as NFL great Tom Brady, who owns a stake in Birmingham City.
The two clubs met in the Championship last week, with Birmingham winning 2-1.

The rapper was given an enthusiastic welcome when he visited the Welsh club for the first time in February, with his seven-minute lap of honour accompanied by twirling towels – a familiar sight in American sports.
Other celebrities to invest in football include Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan, who owns a stake in AFC Bournemouth, US actor and comedian Will Ferrell, who has shares in Leeds United, and chart-topping singer Ed Sheeran, who is a minority owner of his hometown club Ipswich Town.
Jackman had earlier said he was offered the opportunity to invest in Norwich in 2010, but decided against it.
American billionaire Mark Attanasio is the club’s majority shareholder, having first invested in Norwich in 2022 before steadily increasing his stake.
In August 2024, Attanasio, who also owns the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, took majority control from Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones.
