New Delhi: Preparations for Shri Krishna Janmashtami are going on in full swing across the country. Various types of dishes and offerings are being prepared for the birth anniversary of Kanha. Butter and sugar candy have the most important place in the worship of Lord Krishna. However, there is a possibility of adulteration in the processed butter available in the market and it does not have that natural satvik taste. This time, if you want to offer fresh and pure homemade butter to your little Kanhaiya instead of market butter, then there is no need to worry. Without any special hassle and wasting much time, you can prepare pure white butter in a few minutes with the help of curd.
Selection and preliminary preparation of curd
Choosing the right curd is very important to extract good and abundant amount of butter at home. For this, use curd made from full fat milk.
If the curd is two to three days old and slightly sour, then the butter gets separated more easily and quickly. If curd is not available at home, you can also bring curd from the market.
How to extract butter from mixer or blender
First of all, turn the curd into a big vessel or vessel. If you have a hand blender, add very cold ice water to the curd and run the blender. If using a mixer, put the curd in a big jar. Since the jar is big, the curd gets space to move around easily.
Now add ice cubes and cold water to it and stir the mixer. Keep in mind that instead of running the mixer continuously, run it intermittently and keep adding ice cold water little by little in between. This cold water plays the main role in separating butter from curd faster.
Special trick to separate butter with hands
After beating intermittently for about 10 to 15 minutes, the butter will start floating on the surface and the whey or water will separate. When the butter has completely risen, collect it gently with your clean fingers instead of scooping it out with a spoon. It easily takes the shape of a circle with hands. After collecting, wash it once with clean cold water gently, so that the excess sourness of the curd is removed.
The offering of butter and sugar candy is ready for Kanha.
Take out the white butter prepared in this way in a bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for some time, so that it becomes a little hard and settled. Just your traditional Bilona style pure homemade butter is ready. Mix some sugar candy, chopped cardamom and basil leaves in it and offer it lovingly to your Bal Gopal. This satvik prasad is not only dear to Lord Krishna but is also healthy and nutritious for the entire family.
