India vs Japan T20I: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made a historic announcement on Friday, 4 September. BCCI has announced that a T20 International match will be played between India and Japan before the Asian Games. India will play its first match in the Asian Games on 28th September, but just 6 days before that i.e. on 22nd September, the Indian team will face Japan in T20I. Let us tell you that this will be the first time in the history of men's cricket when a T20 International match will be played between India and Japan. This match is being played as the beginning of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Japan.

BCCI has shared the information about this match on its official X handle. BCCI said that a T20 match will be played between India and Japan which is historical. BCCI also informed that this match is being organized to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Japan. This T20 International match between India and Japan will be played on 22 September. Both the teams will face each other at the Sano International Cricket Ground in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. This match will start at 9:30 am Indian time.
This match will be held to celebrate 75 years of India-Japan diplomatic relations.
To commemorate the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Japan, a historic T20 International match will be played between the two countries on September 22 in Tochigi, Japan. The match is part of a new initiative named “Sport 75”, which was decided during the meeting between Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi and Indian PM Narendra Modi. The main objective of this initiative is to deepen the friendship between the two countries through sports. Along with this, this partnership will also strengthen India's dream of hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the year 2036, in which both the countries will cooperate with each other in the field of sports.
What did BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia say on India vs Japan T20I match?
Expressing happiness over this historic match, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that the Board is extremely proud to be a part of this memorable occasion, because through this the Indian cricket team is stepping into a 'new field'. He expressed hope that this match will give a new identity to cricket in Japan and entire East Asia and new spectators will join the game. Saikia, underlining the responsibility of BCCI as the world's largest cricket board, said that the development of the game should also happen outside the traditional countries and we are fully committed to contribute to this development. Lastly, he appreciated the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between India and Japan and expressed his gratitude to the Japan Cricket Association for making this special match possible.
