Director Sajeev Pazhoor's socio-political family thriller 'Enna Vilai'starring Nimisha Sajayan and Karunas in the lead, has been officially selected for the Bridges International Film Festival in Greece.

The selection adds to the film's growing international festival presence. 'Enna Vilai' was recently selected for the Atlanta Indian Film Festival in the US and the Kaia International Film Festival in Istanbul, Turkey.

The film has already received recognition at international and Indian award platforms, including the Best Feature Film honor at the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival in Germany and the Best Screenplay Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival.

Announcing the latest selection on Instagram, the makers wrote that 'Enna Vilai' was “making its way to the world” and confirmed its selection at the Greek festival. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in September 2026.

The makers had earlier chosen an unusual way to launch the film's first look, dedicating the moment to the residents of Paalam village in Dhanushkodiwhere a major portion of the film was shot.

Rather than having a celebrity unveil the first look, the team invited the villagers who had supported and welcomed them during the production to perform the launch. The gathering was described by those present as a gesture of gratitude towards the community whose hospitality and support became an important part of the filmmaking experience.

producer Githesh Vunder whose Kalameya Films banner the project has been produced, said the team wanted the first look to be introduced by the people who had become part of their journey.

“Every film has a beginning, but very few get the opportunity to begin with gratitude,” he said, adding that the Paalam villagers had made the team feel at home throughout the shoot.

Director Sajeev Pazhoor said the people and places where a film is made can sometimes become part of the story itself. He said the team wanted the film to first belong to the people of Paalam who had stood by them from the beginning.

Written and directed by Pazhoor, 'Enna Vilai' also features Y. Gee. Mahendran, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Mohan Ram, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Kavithalayaa Krishna, Deepa Shankar, Mottai Rajendran and Nakkalites Kaviamong others.
