A warning of heavy rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds has been issued throughout the day.
People who had come out to celebrate Janmashtami got stuck due to the sudden heavy rain. People got scared when the rain increased heavily. According to weather department data, Palam recorded 3.4 mm rainfall between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm, while Najafgarh received 0.5 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 11.30 am.
Three flights were diverted due to rain
