The situation was such that the school principal would often call his mother to complain about this. Recalling the journey of her early life, the actress told that when she started school, she lived in Punjab, but soon after completing the second class, she came to Delhi with her mother. After coming to Delhi, a new challenge arose before him, because at that time both his Hindi and English languages ​​were very weak. There was a lot of influence of Punjabi language and its style in his speaking and conversation style, due to which he often had to face awkward situations in classes. Adapting to a school in a metropolitan city like Delhi and making her place among the students there was no less than a challenge for a little girl, but her mother's support and her own eagerness to learn never allowed her to give up. Those days of strict 'Dolly Ma'am' and beating with stick in Delhi school, I still remember those moments of strict discipline. Amandeep Sidhu shared the most scary and interesting experience of his school days, when he used to hate one of his teachers deeply. She told that in the school in Delhi where she studied, a teacher named Dolly used to teach her English, who was very strict and disciplined by nature. In class, she always insisted that all students use only English language to communicate with each other. Amandeep tells that whenever Dolly Ma'am had a class, a strange fear would settle in her mind and before the class started, she would pray that somehow Ma'am should not come to the class today. Referring to that strict discipline, the actress told that Ma'am used to make all the children stand on her bench one by one in the class and ask them to read the English paragraphs from the book out loud. If any child made any mistake in pronunciation, Dolly Ma'am would beat him with a stick. At that time, Amandeep started hating his English teacher because of the fear of the stick and the strictness, but today looking back he realizes that if those strict rules and that teacher had not been there, he would never have developed the confidence to speak English. Mother's foresight and special classes helped in improving the language, Alka Amin became the first guru and inspiration of the industry. Amandeep remembered the invaluable contribution of his mother in strengthening his hold not only on English but also on his mother tongue Punjabi and Hindi. She told that when she was in seventh or eighth class, her mother felt that even though she had come to Delhi, she should not forget her native language Punjabi. For this, her mother enrolled her in a special class specifically to learn Punjabi, due to which she remained connected to her mother tongue and at the same time her grammar of Hindi and English also improved a lot. Recalling the days of his first TV serial 'Yeh Pyaar Nahi To Kya Hai', he said that even then the influence of Punjabi accent was visible in his Hindi. In such a situation, senior and veteran actress Alka Amin, who played the role of his mother on the set, scolded and explained him a lot like her daughter, which inspired him to refine his Hindi. Whenever Alka Ma'am came to the shooting set, she was the first to bow her head respectfully towards the camera, and Amandeep also learned the same ritual from her.
