IAF Air Exercise: The Indian Air Force is going to conduct a major exercise to test its military capability and operational preparedness. This exercise will run from 21 September to 7 October. For this, the airspace of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Phalodi and Jodhpur sectors of Rajasthan has been earmarked. Apart from this, the air space around Nal-Bikaner has also been restricted for some time.
The stir increased after NOTAM was issued
After NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the Air Force, activities have increased in the border areas. Through this notice, information about military activities taking place in the airspace is given, so that the safety of civil and military aircraft can be ensured.
According to reports, Pakistan has increased surveillance on the India-Pakistan border regarding this exercise. Besides, an emergency meeting of the defense officials there has also been called.
Practice area will be up to 40 thousand feet
According to the information, the airspace reserved for the practice of the Indian Air Force will extend to a height of about 40 thousand feet. During this period, the Air Force’s modern fighter aircraft and other military resources will showcase their capabilities.
The objective of this exercise is to strengthen the preparedness, operational capability, deployment process and coordination between different units of the Air Force in war-like situations.
Exercise may be linked to Tarang Shakti 2026
There is a possibility that its activities may also be linked with the proposed multinational air exercise ‘Tarang Shakti 2026’ in Jodhpur from 26 September to 12 October. Air forces of many countries participate in exercises like Tarang Shakti to practice joint air operations.

NOTAM i.e. ‘Notice to Airmen’ is an official notice, which is issued to give information about a particular activity in the airspace. It is released during military exercises, missile tests, rocket launches or other strategic activities. Its main objective is to ensure that aircraft operations can be carried out safely within the stipulated time and area.
