Hero MotoCorp's flagship bike Hero Mavrick 440 has once again been spotted during road testing. This time the features of this bike have seen major and premium updates. However, this bike was discontinued in India almost a year and a half ago due to low sales. Hence, it is being speculated that this new model is not meant to make a comeback in India but only for export to the international market.

New features and upgrades

In the international market this bike is sold as Hunk 440. A premium gold-finish replaces the old telescopic forks in the spotted model USD Front forks And modern instead of simple LCD screen TFT Instrument cluster has been given. With this new display, the bike is likely to get high-tech features like ride modes, traction control and ride-by-wire throttle.

Engine and mechanical performance

No change has been made in the engine of the bike. It retains the same 440cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine as before. This engine generates 27 bhp of power and 36 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets dual-channel ABS with disc brakes on both wheels and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Chances of coming back to India are dim

Launched in February 2024, the Maverick 440 was available for sale in India for around 18 months. To keep the price down compared to the Harley-Davidson X440, the company initially omitted premium features like USD forks and a TFT screen. But, the company had to discontinue this bike in India due to low response from customers. As Hero MotoCorp is currently working on the 'Xpulse 421' for the Indian market, it is highly unlikely that the Maverick 440 will make a comeback in India.
