However, there are some long-serving employees who were eligible for the EPF scheme but could not be enrolled in the system for various reasons. There is now great news for such individuals, as the EPFO ​​has taken a significant step to bring these eligible employees into the EPF fold by launching the 'Employees Enrolment Campaign (EEC) 2026'.

**What is the EEC?**
The EPFO ​​has launched the EEC campaign to address the situation of employees who were eligible for the EPF system but did not have a PF account created for them. Through this campaign, the EPFO ​​aims to enroll these eligible employees into the system. If you were eligible for the EPF system but PF contributions were not deducted from your salary, employers can now rectify record discrepancies through this campaign and enroll eligible employees in the EPF. This campaign will run until October 31, 2026.

**Relief for Employees**
Employees stand to gain significantly from this campaign. Eligible employees will not be required to pay the contribution amount themselves for the period when PF was not deducted from their salaries; in other words, they do not have to pay the arrears for past PF contributions out of their own pockets. However, the past liability itself is not being waived under the campaign. The benefits of this campaign are available only to employees who were eligible for EPF between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2026, but did not have a PF account created. Employees must have met the eligibility criteria during the specified period. Eligible employees may also receive benefits such as pension, insurance, and PF coverage.

**Who is not included?**
Individuals who are no longer employed by the company cannot participate in this campaign. Similarly, this campaign is not intended for those who are already enrolled in the EPF system. It is exclusively for eligible EPF employees who were previously left out of the system.
