The impact of floods is continuously increasing in Bihar. Flood water has entered the low-lying areas of Patna district. About 2.32 lakh population of 9 blocks of the district has been affected by the floods. After the rising water, the district administration has intensified the relief and rescue work.

The district administration has started 8 community kitchen centers to provide food to the flood affected people. So far, about 5,900 thali meals have been provided to people through these centres. The administration is continuously monitoring the needs of the people in the affected areas.

More than 6.65 lakh people affected in 18 districts

Talking about entire Bihar, flood water has spread in 18 districts of the state. More than 6.65 lakh people have been affected by this. People are facing problems due to water logging in many areas. Food is being provided to the affected people through relief camps and community kitchen centres.

9 rivers above danger mark

In Bihar, 9 rivers including Ganga, Gandak and Punpun are still flowing above the danger mark. The administration's concern has also increased due to the rise in the water level of the rivers. Special vigil is being maintained on the river banks and low-lying areas.

The water level and embankments of different rivers including Ganga are being monitored 24 hours. Administration teams are constantly monitoring the situation, so that in case of pressure on the embankment increasing or the flow of water increasing, immediate action can be taken.

SDRF and NDRF teams deployed

27 SDRF and 9 NDRF teams have been deployed for relief and rescue in the flood affected areas. If needed, people are being taken to safe places with the help of these teams. At present, the focus of the administration is on keeping the affected people safe and providing them necessary facilities including food.
